Chris Kelly is an LPL Financial Advisor at Penn Wealth Planning, LLC. Chris is passionate about developing long-term relationships with clients to allow him to fully understand clients’ financial goals, and to help clients pursue them. In particular, as a CPA, Chris enjoys the challenge of managing tax planning into a client’s financial plan, to help clients be as tax efficient as possible.
Prior to joining Penn Wealth in 2018, Chris occupied several senior financial management roles in both private and publicly traded multinational pharmaceutical companies spanning eight years, rising to the level of VP of Finance. Prior to that, he spent nearly nine years working at PricewaterhouseCoopers as an auditor, split between the London and Philadelphia offices. In particular, this background provided Chris with a strong foundation in understanding the life cycle of pharmaceutical companies and typical employee compensation plans (including restricted stock and stock options).
Chris is a CPA (licensed in Pennsylvania since 2007) and a Chartered Accountant (Institute of Chartered Accountants for Scotland) since 2005. During tax season he works closely with Gerald “Jerry” Barlow, CPA in the Penn Wealth Accounting Group, to facilitate client tax preparation and service.*
Chris was born and raised in Scotland. He attained his Masters in Chemical Engineering with French at the University of Manchester and moved to the U.S.A. in 2006. Chris holds his Series 7 and Series 66 licenses with LPL Financial. In December 2018, Chris passed his certified financial plannerTM (CFP®) exam, and is now working towards the hours required to use the CFP designation. Chris enjoys racketball, golf and swimming, and together with his wife Nancy, has two children, Luke and Margaret.
